Cardanol

Cashew phenol popularly known as Cardanol or Card-Phenol manufactured from cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL).Cardanol is a phenolic lipid obtained from anacardic acid, the main component of cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL), a byproduct of cashew nut processing.The products obtained from CARDANOL have many advantages over these manufactured from other substituted phenols. It is therefore widely used in the manufacture of surface coating, insulating varnishes, Epoxy and oil soluble resins, laminates, rubber and wax compounding, pesticides, Foundry, dyes etc.
