It eliminates metal to metal contact between nuts and bolts preventing them from seizing leading to breakage under extremely heavy load. due to this, it is used in application for connections like studs, bolts, nuts, screws, slides, keys, press-fits, couplings, bushings, gaskets, splines, etc. to prevent seizure, especially in equipment like furnaces, boilers, heat exchangers, turbines, compressors, ovens, burners, aluminium structures,etc.
