The upper beam that carries the upper blade is guided by adjustable preloaded and hardened guide roller ways, a system normally found in much more expensive machines. The rake angle is adjusted hydraulically and the blade clearance is adjusted manually, reducing maintenance and providing overload protection. Variable rake angle can be especially beneficial in the shearing of narrow strips.
